_The Cardboard Chair
The final project of the first semester was to create a chair out of an everyday material not associated with building: cardboard. Using a limited area and as few cuts as possible, we were tasked with coming up with an origami-like design.

Our design rested on two pieces, folded into one another to create a sturdy chair, which was able to hold approximately 250 pounds, and was quite comfortable to boot.

Le projet final du premier semestre était de concevoir une chaise avec un matériau de tous les jours qui n'est pas associé à ce type de construction: le carton. En utilisant une surface limitée et en faisant aussi peu de coupes que possible, nous devions créer un design de type "origami."

Notre chaise était composée de deux pièces qui se pliaient l'une dans l'autre afin de créer un siège solide, capable de supporter à peu près 250 livres, et était confortable!
